Percolation beyond Zz, Many Questions and a Few Answers
نویسنده
چکیده
A comprehensive study of percolation in a more general context than the usual Z d setting is proposed, with particular focus on Cayley graphs, almost transitive graphs, and planar graphs. Results concerning uniqueness of infinite clusters and inequalities for the critical value pc are given, and a simple planar example exhibiting uniqueness and non-uniqueness for different p > pc is analyzed. Numerous varied conjectures and problems are proposed, with the hope of setting goals for future research in percolation theory.

متن کاملFive Answers on Pragmatism
Prof. Haack answers a series of questions on pragmatism, beginning with the origins of this tradition in the work of Peirce and James, its evolution in the work of Dewey and Mead, and its influence beyond the United States in, for example, the Italian pragmatists and the radical British pragmatist F. C. S. Schiller. Classical pragmatism, she observes, is a rich and varied tradition from which t...
متن کاملun 2 00 1 percolation on finite graphs Itai Benjamini
Several questions and few answers regarding percolation on finite graphs are presented. The following is a note regarding the asymptotic study of percolation on finite transitive graphs. On the one hand, the theory of percolation on infinite graphs is rather developed, although still with many open problems (See [9]). On the other hand random graphs were deeply studied (see [7]). Finite transit...

"Is ethic based on metaphysical principles?" Hillary Putnam and Kai Nielsen answer to this question is negative; On the contrary, from the point of view of this article, the answer to this question is positive. Many scholars of Islamic ethic have also given an implicit positive answer to this important question. One of the important evidences that shows that ethic is based on metaphysical princ...
متن کاملWebCall - A Rich Context Mobile Research Framework
The ever-increasing capability of mobile devices enables many mobile services far beyond a traditional voice call. In this paper, we present WebCall, a research framework on how to share and utilize the rich contextual information about users, such as phonebook, indoor and outdoor location, and calendar. WebCall also demonstrates a few services (e.g. human powered questions and answers) that ca...
